Erik Bethel
Mr. Bethel has 15 years experience in the investment banking and private equity industries in Latin America and China. Before co-founding SinoLatin Capital, Mr. Bethel worked for ChinaVest, the oldest private equity fund in Mainland China. Prior to this, he worked in the Latin American private equity, mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance groups at Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan Partners, Emerging Markets Partnership, and Compass Point Capital Partners.

His US$4 billion worth of transaction experience in Latin America spans the forestry, mining infrastructure sectors. Selected transactions include those for Celulosa Arauco (forestry), Companhia Siderurgica de Tubarao-CST (steel), Kansas City de Mexico-TFM (rail), Bachoco (agribusiness), TMM (shipping), and Gruma (food), among others. Mr. Bethel graduated with distinction from the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis with a B.S. in Economics and a B.S. in Political Science. He also received an MBA from The Wharton School of Business.

He speaks fluent Spanish, Portuguese, English and conversational Mandarin. He resides in Shanghai with his wife and two children.

Luis Gómez Cobo
Before moving to China to research agribusiness investment opportunities, Mr. Gómez Cobo co-founded and served as CEO of Los Olivos Alimentos, a leading Mexican agribusiness firm. He has wide experience in making private investments and participating in several enterprises, including Los Olivos Alimentos, Saeta Continental, Figo Transport, Empacadora Zan Alfonso, Nueva Tecnología en Alimentación (Nutec), and Ganaderos Productores de Leche Pura (Alpura).

Mr. Gómez Cobo graduated from México's ITESM with a degree in biochemistry and a specialization in the food industry. He has a Masters Degree in Information Technology Administration from ITESM and an MBA from China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). He speaks fluent Spanish, English and conversational Mandarin. He resides in Shanghai with his wife and two children.

Rafael Valdez Mingramm

Prior to co-founding SinoLatin Capital, Mr. Valdez worked at ChinaVest, the oldest private equity fund in Mainland China. Mr. Valdez is a Founding Member and Chairman of the Board of the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in China (MEXCHAM) and Co-Founder of www.latinoamericanosenchina.com, the premier on-line communication and information exchange platform linking Latin America with China.

Previously, Mr. Valdez worked as a consultant for ProVentures, a financial advisory firm based in New York that promotes private equity investments in Southern Africa & Latin America, and advised The Synergos Institute on sustainable development initiatives along the U.S.- Mexico Border. In Mexico, he held several positions at the Mexican National Mint, Finance Ministry, and chaired Fundación EDUCA Mexico.

Mr. Valdez graduated from ITAM with a B.A. in Economics. As a "Joint Japan / World Bank Graduate Scholar", he received an MPA from Columbia University. He also received an MBA from China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). He speaks fluent Spanish and English, and conversational Mandarin. He resides in Shanghai with his wife and daughter.

Jorge Barreda
Mr. Barreda is an investment banker with over 10 years of international deal making experience. Prior to joining SinoLatin Capital, Mr. Barreda headed the Andean Region effort at UBS Investment Bank, where he was an Executive Director. Prior to UBS, he was a Vice President at Deutsche Bank where he originated capital markets, structured notes and derivatives transactions. Over the course of his career, Mr. Barreda has originated and managed over US$20 billion in international capital markets and corporate finance transactions with corporate and sovereign clients in Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. Transactions originated and managed by Mr. Barreda include a highly successful capital markets transaction for the Republic of Colombia (awarded IFR Deal of the Year in 2006), the also successful re-profiling of the Republic of Uruguay's external debt (awarded Liability Management Deal of the Year), the restructuring of the Dominican Republic's external debt, the unprecedented re-profiling of the Republic of Peru Paris Club obligations, the structuring of leveraged acquisition finance for a group of Colombian investors in the energy sector, and strategic advisory to the shareholders of the Port of Cartagena in Colombia.

Mr. Barreda holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a Masters Degree in Economics from Catholic University of Chile. He resides with his wife in New York City.

Mei Lu

Ms. Mei Lu has 15 years of experience working at central Chinese government agencies, as well as more than 10 years in leadership positions at large state owned enterprises in China, participating in countless large scale corporate operation and management projects. Before joining SinoLatin Capital, Ms. Lu worked at GPCapital Co., Ltd, as the director of back office operations. Ms. Lu led and took part in the whole creation process of GPCapital Co., Ltd and Shanghai Financial Sector Investment Fund. Prior to this, Ms. Lu was the head of the foreign trade accounting department of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of PRC, Vice President of China Jin Mao Group Co., LTD and the general manager and Certified Public Accountant for Beijing Reanda Certified Public Accountants Co., LTD.

Ms. Mei Lu graduated from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, majoring in Finance. She received an EMBA degree from CEIBS. Ms. Lu is fluent in both Chinese and English. She resides with her family in Shanghai.
